Micropollen

An homage to a magical man and his binders of fossils. This collection is about discovering just how close we are to the past. The most incredible things are often invisible, requiring attention in order to be noticed.

A SP/SU collection inspired by my work with one of the world’s leading microfossil Palaeontologists.

Nested deep between stacked bookshelves at a world-renowned Paleontological Museum, I met a very interesting man. One of the world’s leading scientists, he specialized in microfossils. Specifically, pollen (from flowering plants) and spores (from plants like moss, ferns, or lichens).

He showed me feather-thin, telescopic scans of his microfossils. It was love at first sight.

This collection is about discovering just how close we are to the past, while in the present. It’s also an homage to that beautiful man who let me in to his beautiful binders.
